Early Birds: Our Free Breakfast Club

At Woodchurch Road Academy, we are committed to giving every child the strongest possible start to their day. Our Early Birds Breakfast Club is completely free for all pupils, thanks to funding from the Department for Education (DfE) through its national initiative to support healthy, nutritious breakfasts in schools.

Early Birds opens at 8:15am, giving children a calm and welcoming start to the morning. Pupils enjoy a healthy, DfE-funded breakfast with friends before heading straight to their classrooms for morning tuition. This extra time helps them settle, focus, and build confidence as they begin the school day.

Our wraparound care is designed to support families, widen access to nutritious meals, and create smooth, happy starts to every morning. Early Birds ensures every child begins the day feeling ready, supported, and prepared for learning.

Tree House: Our Wraparound Care Provision

For families who need extended childcare, Tree House offers a safe, friendly, and structured wraparound care service before and after the school day.

Morning Tree House opens at 7:30am and includes a nutritious breakfast to help children start the day calmly and positively. Activities are purposeful, engaging, and designed to ease pupils into their morning before school begins

After School Tree House runs until 6:00pm, providing a warm, supportive environment where children can relax, play, and take part in a wide range of activities. The afternoon session includes a healthy snack, usually fruit, cheese, and crackers, and our full menu is available from the school office. This light snack ensures your child is comfortable and ready for their evening meal when they return home.

Tree House is designed to offer flexibility for busy families while ensuring children enjoy high-quality care, enrichment, and a smooth end to their day. We do not offer screen time outside of learning apps either through TV, I-Pad or films.
